Joshua Tree

Joshua TreeRecently I got to explore Joshua Tree and took some great pictures of our exploration & hikes.  I especially like this great shot of the moon I got!  We did a cruiser nature walk at Hidden Valley and then an advanced explorer hike up Ryan Mountain.  The nature walk was a mellow but interesting 1.3 mile loop.  There were many families out and about enjoying themselves as well as many interpretative signs.  The Ryan Mountain hike had an elevation gain of nearly 1,000 feet and was 3 miles round trip.  From up high we had breathtaking 360 degree views of the park which made our hike well worth the effort.  We finished the hike just before sunset, giving us some great photos, including our moon shot.

Hidden Valley Rock ClimbingJoshua tree is a rock climbing mecca.  We saw many climbers in action and just chillin’.  Saddle rock looked especially gnarly – what with a route named A Cheap Way To Die.  Definitely not a Live To Play Another Day route! John got inspired and did a bit of climbing too!
