Paddle Palooza is back again for 2012!

First a little about SUP:

What does SUP stand for: Stand Up Paddle.

What is SUP: A global sport with a Hawaiian heritage. The sport is an ancient form of surfing, and reemerged as a way for surfing instructors to manage their large groups of students, as standing on the board gave them a higher viewpoint. This increased visibility of what was going on around them such as incoming swell.

After having a successful first ever 2011 OBX Paddle Palooza, the dates have been set for 2012.

This 3 day festival gives you the opportunity to come out with the family and try Stand Up Paddleboarding, to enter some races and Pig Pickin’!

When: June 1,2,3 2012

Who: This event is open to all levels, whether your a beginner or experienced paddler, anyone can participate. And to top it off it’s a pet friendly event where dogs can compete in the SUP Dog freestyle paddle battle!

Where: Cape Hatteras. OBX Paddle Palooza will be held at Frisco Woods Campground.
